Frequently Asked Questions

What is breathwork?
Deep breathing used in breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the 'rest and digest' mode. This helps reduce stress hormones like cortisol and brings the body into a more relaxed, balanced state.
I know how to breathe already, what will you be able to teach me?

In actual fact, many people breathe in inefficient or disruptive ways, such as rapid shallow breathing, breath holding or irregular patterns of breath. Breathwork promotes deep, full connected breath into the diaphragm.

Is breathwork safe?

Yes! I am fully trained to understand your personal needs and any medical situation you may have. Breathwork benefits anyone seeking emotional healing, stress relief, or personal growth.

I am afraid of what might come out during the session.

BBTRS is specifically designed to go at your own pace. Pendulation in breath during the session means a little trauma is released at a time. Most breathwork sessions are gentle and well timed, going only so far as the you are comfortable enough to go. There is no pressure and no scary overwhelms! Only breath and my guidance.

What is trauma release?

Trauma lives in the body, often long after a major event or even minor but stressful events have passed. It's not always loud or dramatic, sometimes it's a wonderful deep sigh, or a wave of emotion that you hadn't realised was stored deep down. Releasing trauma restores flow of breath, of energy, and allows the nervous system to return to a place of safety.

Where can we do the In Person Session?

I can come to you within a reasonable distance, however if not I may have to book a private room for us to practice in safely.
